Choosing the best wicking — and the correct wick size — is essential for making superior-quality DIY beeswax candles. When choosing your wick, consider the type of wax you use and the diameter of the candle you plan to make.

We offer 100% cotton candle wicking rolls in various sizes, pre-assembled votive and tealight wicks, and bow tie wick bars to hold your wick place when cooling. A properly wicked beeswax candle burns cleaner, more slowly, and with minimal dripping. Perform a test burn to help you determine the proper wick size: Look for a melt pool that encompasses almost the entire diameter of the candle and at a depth of about ¼ inch. A pool deeper than ¼ inch indicates that the wick is too large, but when the wick is too small, the candle will "pit," or burn straight down the center.
